Every now and then, I like to step away from my design routine and try to come up with ideas — often fictional — as a way to practice and study. This time, I decided to explore something I’ve been wanting to work on for a while: something I truly love and that has been part of my life forever and every single day… music. On Spotify alone, I listened to 90,130 minutes this year lol.
After thinking and rethinking, I first came up with the idea of creating an Instagram profile that would work as a community where people from all over the world, with all kinds of musical tastes, could share moments connected to music. The idea was for people to capture special — or simply interesting — moments where music was present and post them while tagging the community’s Instagram account.
But as I reflected further, the concept evolved into creating a dedicated space for this: an app whose sole purpose would be to share these moments and, of course, include the song that was playing at the time — allowing others to add it to their Spotify playlists or leave a comment if that song had been meaningful at some point in their lives.
The initial outcome was this:
FUTURA®ARCHIVE is a fictional community created for those who live, love, or simply enjoy music. A space where styles, cultures, and generations intersect — without hierarchies, without labels — just sound, identity, and presence. A proposal designed to transcend cultures, styles, and generations, bringing people together.
